TripX Backup: privacy policy

TripX Backup is an internal tool operated by TripX. One TripX owner account authorizes it, to store encrypted backups of TripX's own systems.

Google user data the tool accesses

The tool requests only the Google Drive scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file. With it, the tool can create, read, list and delete only the files and folders it created in the authorizing account's Drive, inside its own backup folder. It cannot see or read any other file in that Drive. It does not request the user's contacts, e-mail, calendar or any other Google data.

How the data is used

• The tool uploads backup archives, reads them back to check their integrity, lists them, and deletes copies older than the retention limit.
• Every archive is encrypted with age on TripX's server before upload. The decryption key is held offline by the TripX owner and is never stored on the server or in Google Drive.
• The data is not used for advertising, analytics, profiling or any purpose other than backup and recovery.

Sharing and transfer

Google user data is not sold, shared or transferred to any third party. Nobody uses it to train any model. TripX Backup's use of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Storage, retention and deletion

• The OAuth access credential is stored on TripX's server in a file only the administrator can read.
• Backups are kept for a limited, rolling number of copies, then deleted automatically.
• To revoke access, remove "TripX Backup" at myaccount.google.com/permissions. The backup folder can be deleted from Google Drive at any time.
